Military Professions:
Military professions include all branches of the armed forces, mercenaries, headhunters, police officers,
and security forces (the streets have gotten a LOT worse). While these professions offer
lots of combat training, they are often in a direct line of fire and always fighting.

Soldiers:
Alcordia's Armed forces are among the most powerful human fighting force in existence. Remember PCs will have to obey orders unless they have been discharged or if they have gone AWOL. There are five branches of the armed forces:

Army:
The army is the ground fighting force of Alcordia.

Navy:
The Navy is responsible for protecting commerce and the engaging of enemy forces on the high seas.  These are planetary, water-borne forces.

Air Force:

Space Armada:
The Space Armada is responsible for protecting interplanetary commerce and the engaging of any enemy or alien forces in space; it is further responsible for achieving and maintaining space superiority against any enemy or alien force; and to move military personnel, materiel and equipment for Rapid Deployment of forces.

Special Forces:
The special forces fight in all areas of combat and with special skill. This branch is formed of two groups:
(1) special combat units- use skills the equivalent of their normal branches with some modifications;
(2) espionage / surveillance- infiltraitors and spies, here their skills are listed.

Mercenary / Headhunter:
Although mercenaries and headhunters are different technically, their skills are the same. After all,
mercenaries are hired by the military for assistance, but headhunters are hired to assist the police
force. A note to players playing mercenary / headhunter characters, these people are usually loners or
more self-serving versions of soldier characters. These people often see wars as a chance to make a
huge profit and the inter species war is a huge cash crop. Also, these people prefer to not have to
conform to a strict chain of command and to have the choice to simply escape from the fighting at any
time.

Police Officer / Security Personnel
Alcordia's police force has shrunken dramatically since the invasion. Several of its members have quit to
join or have been reassigned to the armed forces. Also, many of its members have been killed in action.
Because of the strong gang activity, the police and Security forces fight almost as much as soldiers.

Public Professions:

The public professions include the non-military day-to-day jobs of the general populace. Also included in
this category are the thieving gang members. Although these characters start out with little training in
the operation of weapons and in fighting, they have other useful skills (repair, medical, etc.). They also
have much more freedom as they are not slowed down by a chain of command or a clan caste system.

Repair Officer:
A repair officer is the modernized or, Politically correct term for repair man. A repair officer, however, is often a worker for hire.
These people are trained to repair and/or construct anything.

Doctor:
Doctors administer help to the needy, however, they are not able to help much in the removal of Arrikian
presence in a being. As such, they are not as useful in the field as before. However, they are still useful
to some extent.

Scientist:
There are a variety of scientists in the universe. They perform a variety of duties to search for the secrets
of the universe. A scientist is almost always based on one particular science skill.

Trader:
Traders are interstellar merchants. These people ship goods from one colony or planet to another.
However, evil traders often become smugglers of illegal goods. These people are often affected by
space and exploration wanderlust and are also fairly wild and free going. They see themselves as free spirits who come and go as they please.

Gang Members:
Gang members are the thieving underbelly of many of the free colonies. These groups have a huge reign
in the large cities due to a lack of police / Security forces in these areas. Gangs have many older members now, so a 20-30 old gang member is fairly common. There are two types of gangs: the normal (thieves/miscreants) and hacker gangs.

Normal:
Your average gang member will be considered a thief. These are usually the violent, un-educated,
free spirited scum or thug.

Hacker:
These gang members hide out in darkened areas to wreak their havoc from computer terminals. They are the Cyberthugs.

Cult Professions: The cult professions include members of bizarre sects that focus on the development of psionic powers. (NOTE- While some of the cults presented here are loosely based upon real religions, they are FICTIONAL, and are meant to represent the change upon religion if psionic powers could be be gotten from some faiths, thus altering the current religious standing.)

Catholic Church of the New Age:
The Catholic Church was severely hurt during the appearance of the psionic cults. These "religions"
granted several powers that the Roman Catholic Church just couldn't produce, and it was nearly
destroyed. However, under the guidance of new leaders, the renamed "Catholic Church of the New Age"
quickly learned to meditate and learn the powers of it's competition. Nearly all priests and "Sisters" have
learned the psychic talents, which are believed to be gifts from God. However, these precious gifts must
not be squandered! Especially in the time of our trial. The Church is almost completely in consensus
that now is the time of Revelation and that these "aliens" are truly demons sent by the Devil himself!
While many of the Church's members specialize in the area of restoration, a small sect of "Sisters",
calling themselves the Sisters of Salvation, have begun to train in the area of psionic combat.

Friends Of Humanity:
Before the war, this cult was often viewed as a modern Nazi party. Their "Human supremacy" stand on
all subjects earned them a horrible reputation. They were infamous for using their powers purely to abuse and torment other intelligent species because "We were given our powers because humankind is the chosen race, and it's our job to make sure the other beings know that." However, with the advent of the war, this group has now almost entirely committed themselves to destroying the Arrik-Ka. Now they are often heralded as champions of good and protectors of the innocent. Unfortunately, they still retain their racist views, and refrain from their assault on other species only because "We have bigger fish to fry."
